A true relationship is two imperfect people refusing to give up on each other
Bonny and Billie are sitting angrily with their backs against each other. Bonnie is furious. This time Billie went too far. Usually, she always laughs at his jokes but not today. Today he messed up.
Billy is offended. His joke wasn’t that bad, was it? He thought it was quite funny. He still chuckles about it.
But suddenly his face changes, and he feels bad. It wasn’t funny anymore when she suddenly stared at him with tears in her eyes. Billie doesn’t understand why she’s suddenly so upset.
She never gets angry at him and they never fight so what suddenly went wrong here? Billie doesn’t want to fight with Bonny. She is his best friend. He quietly looks over his shoulder, afraid she’s going to yell at him again. But then he sees that she is crying. A big tear rolls down her furry cheek.
He feels terrible for making her cry, he didn’t want to hurt her. For a moment he doesn’t know what to do but then he remembers what his mother used to say; a true relationship is two imperfect bunnies, refusing to give up on each other. He takes the advice of his mother to heart and jumps up. He puts his little paw around her. “I’m so sorry,” he mumbles quietly. Bonny looks up and smiles at him. She lays her head on his shoulder to show him she is not angry any more because no fight is worth losing her best friend over.
